As a registered charity we rely on funding to deliver many of our projects. Some of this comes from our own social enterprise work, such as Community House. Other specific funding enables us to carry out targeted work with different communities and focus.

Better Connect

Better Connect aims to improve the lives of individuals and communities by enabling the delivery of a wide range of high-quality services to build a robust social economy.

European Social Fund

The European Social Fund (ESF) is the European Union’s main financial instrument for supporting employment in the member states of the European Union, as well as promoting economic and social cohesion. ESF spending amounts to around 10% of the EU’s total budget.

Two Ridings

Two Ridings Community Foundation transforms peoples’ lives and strengthens communities in North & East Yorkshire through making grants to community groups. They inspire giving, and manage funds on behalf of multiple donors, making positive change throughout the region.

North Yorkshire County Council

North Yorkshire County Council is the county council governing the non-metropolitan county of North Yorkshire in England. They support a variety of local community groups and charitable projects through various channels, including their Stronger Communities Programme, helping to make North Yorkshire a better place for all.

Selby District Council

The local authority, Selby District Council, is based in the town of Selby. SDC support numerous local community projects, as well as charities and ongoing work throughout the district.

Big Lottery

Local Trust is an independent charitable trust established in 2012 to deliver the Big Local programme, committing £200 million to 150 neighbourhoods across England. Supported by a range of partner organisations, Big Local is targeting pockets of the country that have been overlooked for funding and resources in the past and may face issues including the decline of local industry, high levels of unemployment, or a pressing need for new support services or activities.

Drax

Drax’s Charity Committee has a dedicated fund for supporting good causes local to its operations, which include Drax Power Station near Selby and its hydro power plants in Scotland.

DWP - Kickstart Scheme

The Kickstart Scheme provides funding to create new jobs for 16 to 24 year olds on Universal Credit who are at risk of long term unemployment.
