A key challenge across our District is limited access to public transport, particularly for those who are most vulnerable. To address this our transport scheme is open to anyone with long-term health conditions or disabilities.
Selby Community Transport
From A to B using C
Our community transport scheme provides a safe, door to door service from our fantastic team of kind and friendly volunteer drivers.
The service is open to anyone who is elderly, living with long-term health conditions or disabilities. We aim to support the most vulnerable people in our community to feel more independent and enable them to continue to get out and about.
Easy to book, our service gets people where they need to be, when they need to be there. We will happily wait for people while they have a hospital or doctor’s appointment, or just a supermarket shop.
Currently, we have no membership fee for our transport service, journeys are charged at 45p per mile, plus a £3 booking fee.
All you need to do is call us on 01757 708036 / 01757 291111, and a member of our team will talk you through how it works.
Our transport scheme
Our fully vetted and trained volunteer drivers can pick you up from your front door and get you where you need to be, with a full support package.
Our 16-seater minibus offers affordable and accessible transport for community organisations. We can provide a driver, or you’re welcome to use your own.
We need your help
Without the fantastic generosity of volunteer drivers, our transport scheme cannot operate. We are in real need of more volunteer drivers to support our service.
Volunteer drivers are fully vetted, must be over the age of 25 and have at least 2 years of driving experience. Training and support are provided, as well as all mileage and out of pocket costs being covered.
Our volunteer car scheme supports those in our community who are most vulnerable. Volunteers use their own vehicles to provide an invaluable door to door service. Passengers feel safe and able to access appointments and places they need to be.
Our minibus offers community organisations an affordable and accessible transport solution. Volunteers enable this service to be available to those without a driver. We will provide any extra training and can pay for a category D license to be obtained.
